My Journey List

Do you have a list of all the things, big or small, that you simply must do? That you are destined to see, do, experience, achieve in this life?

You know that Journey with Jess Jones would not be complete without a list! I’ve done a bit of research into the typical “Bucket List” and there seem to be some rather strong opinions around publishing yours. Now I for one do NOT look it as a ‘to do list before you die.’ (I think that’s a horrible way to view it personally) but rather, a list of experiences you would love to be a part of your Journey….hence the name My Journey List!

Some critics say you get such satisfaction out of telling people about your dreams, that you no longer feel the same desire to achieve them. Others say, the list was always meant to be private and then just before you “kick the bucket” you share with your loved ones. And some go even a bit further and crush this ideal completely with the argument that a list such as the one below is wishful thinking, unrealistic or dare I repeat it, naive!

What do you think??

Here’s My Rationale or Motivation rather…

While I am a rather goal oriented, list making kind of gal, I think it boils down to being a dreamer and wanting to get the most out of life. The goal setter in me loves the sense of achievement associated with completing a task, but even if this entire list isn’t ticked in the end, why not ‘dream big’ and be inspired? Elvis Presley lived by the proverb (or variation of it) “I believe the key to happiness is to always have: someone to love, something to do, and something to look forward to.”  This quote is plastered all over the internet, books on happiness, positive psychology and success, and I have to say it fuels my fire! My Journey List is my way to “always have something to look forward to…”

So without further ado, here is my absolute MUST DO, WILL DO, ALREADY DOING list! This list is a total work in progress and has absolutely no specific order (I just love the randomness of it,) and is in NO WAY an itinerary for my journey! So check back for additions and follow along as I tick these adventures off the list one smile at a time! Please feel free to give me suggestions…I’m always looking for a new adventure!
